Kevin Gannon is Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and Professor of History at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. Restless and likely over-caffeinated, he teaches, studies, and writes on race and racisms in both US history and higher education; critical pedagogy and design; assessment; and creating inclusive learning spaces in both in-person and digital environments. He is a regular contributor to Vitae, in the Chronicle of Higher Education, and has also appeared in Vox and The Washington Post. He is the author of Radical Hope: A Teaching Manifesto, forthcoming from West Virginia University Press’s Teaching and Learning in Higher Education series. In 2016, Kevin appeared in the Oscar-nominated documentary "13th."
