Alison Maher is the Executive Director at Boulder Journey School, a school which is known world-wide for innovation in both early childhood education and teacher education. She helps to coordinate two graduate programs, a residency-based licensure program and an online master’s program, in partnership with the University of Colorado Denver. In her role as adjunct faculty at the university, she serves as an instructor and course designer for two courses, Contextual Curriculum 1 and A Colorado Interpretation of the Reggio Approach. Additionally, Alison has worked as an educational consultant in a wide variety of public and private preschool and elementary schools in the United States, including Google Children’s Centers, World Bank Children’s Center, Jewish Community Center preschool programs, Guardian Early Learning, Educare programs and Denver Public Schools, as well as in schools in Canada, Australia, Japan and Ireland. Digital Pedagogy has been a significant focus of Alison’s work, both inside of Boulder Journey School and within these many local, national and international partnerships.
